Sovereign Indian Nation

Those people that oppose the Native American use of their land to build casinos are confused as to the relationship of this country with the sovereign Indian Nation. The indigenous people of this land have never relinquished their sovereignty. The right of ownership of land by European Americans is a temporary claim that may be altered if the future brings justice to this land. Land acquisition by the white invaders was done through war, broken treaties and legal chicanery. Future courts may recognize that these were illegal acquisitions and return the land to its legal owners. So instead of complaining what autonomous people do with their own land, be appreciative of living in a time when your illegal and immoral possession of that land is recognized.
